Our Mission
Motivated by the love of Jesus Christ, our house is designed for patients and their families who need temporary lodging during their out-of-town hospital stays.
Compassion Inn was started by the First Wesleyan Church in response to the need for low or no cost temporary lodging for out-of- town patients or out-of-town families of patients receiving care at one of our local hospitals. Accommodations are provided at no charge. The Inn is solely supported through donations—whether that be from the guests, general public, or church members. The Inn is run totally by volunteers.
Since March 2011, Compassion Inn has been host to several individuals and families. While the majority of our guests come from various towns within Michigan, we have also had guests from such places as Georgia, New York, Ohio, Illinois, and even New Zealand! And the reason why they are here has varied...including out-patient chemotherapy, awaiting organ transplant, emergency surgery and recently a high risk pregnancy for twins.
Compassion Inn is solely supported through donations. We appreciate any and all contributions. Donations are processed via PayPal. Donors do not need to have a PayPal account to donate and all major credit cards are accepted. All donations are tax deductible.
